An edit of the coolest kids’ shorts this spring/summer.
We had a try-on of last season’s summer wardrobes over Easter and apparently my eldest two have both grown about 3ft and barely have a thing that fits them. So, as shorts weather feels within reaching distance, I’ve compiled a BIG shorts edit. Shorts are one of my favourite ever clothing items. Both for myself and kids. You can’t beat an effortlessly cool pair with a great knitted jumper and leather sandals. It’s my ultimate simple spring and British summertime look. Last year I didn’t see that many pairs I really loved – I even briefly looked into launching my own shorts collection because I was so upset that I couldn’t find some really amazing kids striped shorts (striped shorts are the best in my humble opinion).
Anyway, this year I have no worries as everyone seems to have stepped up their shorts game. Tinycottons alone have single handedly resolved my previous lack of striped shorts issue.
So here’s my shopping list of the very best kids shorts – boys, girls, unisex, toddler – from every brand, at every price point. As I said I love a striped short, so you’ll find a fair few of them. Seersucker, terry towelling, washed denim and linen are always on my list. And a mostly muted palette. But there are some very cool prints this season too – I quite like a bolder statement short with a grey marl tee/sweat…
