Skip the full-on, shop-bought Halloween costumes in favour of spooky-inspired looks or accessories they can actually wear again.
And just to be clear – no judgement here. I’ve definitely bought (or been given) my fair share of Disney and character costumes over the years (my youngest is regularly spotted in a full Elsa dress). I also fully condone the kids snail costume from Kids Concept because it’s too cute not to stick a toddler in. But I do always aim to make more thoughtful purchases – buying less, choosing pieces that last. Or preloved. Charity shops + Vinted are the BEST places to buy for Halloween.
But if you are buying new, why not make it something they can wear beyond the 31st of October? Or choose an accessory that’ll last for years – easy to pass down or be sold on after.
And honestly, how pretty are some of these Halloween pieces? The Glinda influence is strong this year.
A Few Highlights
Organic Zoo is my Halloween go-to for baby & toddler. The moon print is one of my favourites. And the bonnet. You can always add wings for a touch more magic.
The Rosie Sugden special edition – pumpkin orange cashmere baby bonnet.
Witch hats. There are some great ones and they’re a smart buy. Wear for World Book Day too – Room on the Broom. As are skeleton pyjamas – Funny Bones. And they can obviously be worn again.
The Tu “This is my scary t-shirt” is one of my favourites. It’s £5. I would 100% wear this if it came in adult size.
Halloween Treats

And while I’m preaching mindful shopping, I’ll admit I’m currently scrolling Vinted for anything vaguely resembling Rumi from K-Pop Demon Hunters – because my youngest is obsessed, and I may or may not have promised she can dress up as Rumi if she sleeps in her own bed. (A full night’s sleep feels like a worthy trade.)
