A CHAT WITH EVA @VIVESSENCEBYLUNA

If you’re on Instagram you probably know Eva Rayner best as @vivessencebyluna…

Eva is a stylist, designer, all-round creative and mother to Luna, 8.

I’ve loved following Eva at @vivessencebyluna for some time now. She designs beautifully considered collections for both women and children. We first connected in early summer last year when I featured some of her imagery on @thelittlestylist. Her account is just dreamy. The pieces but also the styling, creativity and inspiration. I adore it. So naturally, I called her up for a little chat.

Tell us about you Eva. We love your account and your style but don’t know so much about you?

Fashion and craftsmanship have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My grandmother was a tailor and that love for making things runs deep in our family.

When my sister and I were little, my mum owned her own clothing boutique. We spent a lot of time there. I loved it – sitting quietly, watching customers come and go. And meeting women with incredible style and personality.

As a young woman, I began designing dresses, purely for myself. I never sold them. It was about creativity, intuition, and expressing my personal style, without any pressure or expectation.

Before launching Vivessence by Luna, I worked as a stylist creating visual stories for brands, restaurants, and photoshoots. Styling has always been a constant in my life – from my own outfits to Luna’s, and even the spaces around me. Interior design is another passion, and over the years I’ve worked on several small projects, including styling our own home.

In the past few years, I’ve returned to styling – visual styling, set styling, and content creation with other brands. I’ve been very fortunate to work with some beautiful brands and super talented photographers, and some of my styling work has been published in magazines. It’s been exciting to mix different creative disciplines – fashion, styling, interiors, and content – they can work together to create something unique.

And then of course there’s Luna. Tell us about your experience of motherhood.

Becoming a mother changed everything. Pregnancy was one of the most magical times of my life, and motherhood has deeply shaped how I see the world and create. Luna is now eight, and she chooses most of her own outfits. I love watching her put looks together. She has an incredible sense of style; I admire her creativity and confidence.

After Luna was born, I struggled to find children’s clothing that felt timeless, beautifully made, and practical.

I love long dresses, rompers, and bloomers for little girls, but I didn’t want to shop only on the high street, and I also didn’t want to spend hundreds of pounds on a piece my child would wear once. My husband suggested, “Why don’t you design your own children’s collection?” I thought it was a crazy idea — I was fully immersed in motherhood and loved every single minute of it. I worried that starting a brand might take away from that joy. But after many conversations and shared ideas, I decided to create my first children’s collection. That’s how Vivessence by Luna was born.

What about right now. What are your future plans? And how are you enjoying your @viviessencebyluna Instagram journey?

So, today, I design for both women and children, often creating limited-edition collections. I have a very special all-white limited edition coming this summer.

A few months ago, I decided to bring everything I do together on one Instagram page – @vivessencebyluna – rather than separated across several accounts. I now share my designs, styling projects, visual work, and business journey all in one place. I’ve also started sharing more of our holidays, restaurants we love, and places we visit. For me, Instagram works best when it’s a space for inspiration, creativity, and connection, shared thoughtfully and with intention.
