Ergobaby: The baby carrier making a quiet comeback

A long-time favourite among parents, Ergobaby is back with a more considered, design-led update – without losing what made it so reliable in the first place.

Produced in collaboration with Ergobaby.

I relied heavily on my Ergobaby 365 baby carrier with my eldest two children (now 9 and 11). At the time, I was lucky enough to have something of a wardrobe of baby carriers to choose from – a perk of having a baby while working across baby brands and publications.

And yet, the Ergobaby was always the one I reached for when I knew I’d be wearing a baby for any length of time. It was, without question, the most comfortable. Not necessarily the most stylish but the one that worked.

That balance is exactly what Ergobaby is revisiting with its relaunch.

The brand has long been a leader in ergonomic babywearing. Its designs are rooted in supporting healthy hip and spine development. Something that can occasionally be overlooked in newer, more fashion-led carriers. What’s changed this time around is the aesthetic. The updated designs feel more considered, more in tune with how modern parents want their baby gear to look, without losing the functionality that made the brand so popular in the first place.

The relaunch also reflects a broader shift in how we approach parenting products. Style matters more than it used to – but not at the expense of practicality. Above all we want products that make life easier, that can be shared between partners and that fit into our busy, layered lives. Pieces that are good for baby, good for us and ideally, look good while doing it.

The Omni Deluxe Baby Carrier is the standout. Designed to carry from newborn through to toddler (7 – 45lbs), it offers four carrying positions and is made with everyday use in mind: breathable fabrics, machine washable, and structured in a way that distributes weight comfortably over longer periods. It comes in a range of finishes, including mesh, cotton and linen, with the latter feeling like a particularly nice nod to that elevated, design-conscious direction.

It’s still, at its core, the same Ergobaby I remember, just a little more refined, and more visually considered too.
