Can you do a stylish boys clothes edit soon? Is one of the questions most asked in my DM’s…
So here we go. It’s a fact that there just isn’t as much choice for boys (I’m massively generalising here but mainly talking on the high street) if you’re not looking for clothing with a character, tractor, superhero or dinosaur on or that isn’t just super plain or specifically blue in colour.
BUT there are always gems to be found.
Arket is my pick of the mainstream for affordable, cool buys in great shapes. Zara, H&M & Mango are always worth a look and there’s a great striped short set from Tu at Sainsbury’s below but I find it’s more they each have one or two good pieces, or a nice little capsule collection every so often rather than a constant.
It’s the independent brands, in my opinion, that usually do the best stuff. They’re the most forward thinking for boys & unisex kidswear. Some of them can be a little more £ (but not all). I tend to buy a few key pieces I LOVE from these brands each season for my son and build up basics from the high street around them.
I also always look in the girl’s section as well as the boys. Obvious but just saying. For all my children.
I haven’t included more formal, heritage styles or brands in this edit. It’s more about easy, everyday cool. But my first ports of call for this kind of look would be La Coqueta & Pepa London. Both are beautiful brands.
